Back in September, Sports HAI founder Grace de Alvaro escaped the changing Great British seasons, jumped on a plane to the South of Spain and joined her Spanish dream team for the latest Sports HAI photoshoot.
The shoot was for a print editorial piece that Sports HAI will be featuring in later on in the year and the makeup brief for the shoot looked something like this:
- Sporty sophistication
- Luxury / high fashion
- “Put together”
- Flawless skin
- “No makeup” makeup
- Enhancing natural beauty and features
- “Barely there”
Cintia Escalante was the stunning model for the day and her beautiful natural features, radiant skin and sporty, feminine look complimented the shoot brief perfectly.
Cristina Pina is a makeup artist that Grace had worked with before, who knows Sports HAI products well and whom she trusted with the brief of the day. Cristina’s versatile style ranges from a full glamour looks to softer bridal and striking editorial but what every look that she creates has in common, is she always ensures that the natural beauty of her client is celebrated. With Sports HAI’s comfortable, light wear, sheer to buildable products, Cristina created a naturally flawless sporty look on Cintia – “like your skin but better”.
Capturing the shots of the day was Gonzalo Marques. Another teammate that Grace has had the pleasure of working with before, Gonzalo’s photography style has a sophisticated edge that worked perfectly for the shoot, producing not only a series of stunning closeup headshots of Cintia where the makeup could take centre stage, but also capturing editorial shots in the chosen unique, street style setting. The team felt by shooting on location with a graffitied backdrop, the active lifestyle of Sports HAI customers is captured and keeping the makeup and styling luxurious and ‘high fashion’ gave the images an unexpected edge.
Spanish artist, Maria Planta produced a custom, Olympic themed skateboard specifically for the shoot, a nod to the theme of the publication in which the photographs will be used for, incorporating the Sports HAI branding which quickly became the inspiration behind shooting at the vibrant pink skate ramp and in front of the striking graffiti wall.
The Sports HAI lineup was once again put through an endurance test on the shoot day not only in terms of longevity but the products also had the hot Spanish weather to contend with. Designed for high performance in both hot and cold weather, and with comfortable long wear in mind, the products lend themselves perfectly to a long, hot shoot day. The buildable nature of products meant that quick touch-ups, layering looks and building depth and drama of colour intensity was easily achieved as needed throughout the day.
Here’s a peak at some of the pictures shot from the day!
We hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about our recent photoshoot and being taken behind the scenes. Where should Sports HAI go for our next shoot?
